The playard is lightweight, and comes with a carrying strap, making for easy portability. It is a durable fence, well suited for children up to 2 years of age. The Superyard is great for keeping baby enclosed in a safe play area, or to keep baby out of dangerous areas, like around the Christmas tree. Pros:
- The Superyard is easy to put together, as the gate pieces simply snap together.
- The Superyard works well for both toddlers and puppies, to keep them from getting into dangerous areas.
- The play yard is rugged, sturdy, very easy to clean, and practically unbreakable.
- There are extension kits for the Superyard XT, so you can make the play space as big or small as you like.
- The Superyard folds down flat for easy storage or fitting into a car.
- This play yard has no dangerous, sharp edges that could cause injury to baby.
- This play yard is light weight, and comes with a carrying strap, which makes moving the play yard from inside to outside, or to grandma’s house a snap.
- There is a compatible sun shade, that is meant to be used with the Superyard XT (sold separately).
- Toys can be hung from the side of the the play yard, just like you can from a crib or other play pen, to provide interactive entertainment for baby.
Cons:
- Some people think that it looks like a dog kennel, meaning that it is not the most designer look around.
- The play yard is not set up to be anchored to anything, so as children are able to walk, it is likely that they will push the play yard around, and if they are strong enough, they may also be able to lift it up. Children should be supervised while playing in the Superyard, as they should in any play pen.
- The ends are quite difficult to snap together or take apart, as it requires a great deal of strength.
- Some children learn to climb the gates and get completely out of the play area. There is also a danger of falling off of the gate in mid-climb. or pulling it over on herself. This is another reason that children should be supervised while playing in the Superyard.
- The hinges can break if they are opened and closed frequently, and there are no swinging gates included. This may be a problem if you are not able to step over the fence.
